Another illustration for Creative Beast Studio and their upcoming tabletop card game, ‘Zoic’. New Jersey, 70 million years ago. Dryptosaurus was a primitive tyrannosaurid. And it was one of the few dinosaurs we know of that lived in the eastern half of North America, Appalachia, as the continent was divided by a narrow inland sea. Here a young mother is faced with the catastrophic results of a failed hunt. She’s suffered an incapacitating wound delivered by a nodosaur. If she’s unable to walk, she’s unable to hunt. Her young are still dependent on her however her inability to provide protection or food means their chances of survival are now bleak.
